2003 chevrolet tahoe review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Substantial upgrades to a superb package. introductionthe 2003 chevrolet tahoe is packed with new features and engineering improvements. America's best-selling full-size suv, the tahoe is just the right size for many folks. Big enough to haul busloads of people and boatloads of cargo, the tahoe is more manageable than a suburban. Chevrolet claims the 2003 model brings more than 40 major changes. Some of the new features are dazzling, some of the changes are subtle, and some are quite technical. It all adds up to a safer, more convenient, and more enjoyable vehicle that builds on the tahoe's excellent platform.  safety improvements abound: gm's stabilitrak electronic stability program is available for improved control on slippery surfaces. New airbag systems are designed to better protect children and adults of various sizes. Adjustable pedals are available for improved safety for drivers of smaller stature. The brakes have been improved.  new features dazzle: xm satellite radio delivers cd-quality music, radio, sports, and other programming coast to coast. A rear dvd entertainment system with wireless headphones keeps the kids busy. Second-row bucket seats are available. Improved controls for audio and hvac (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) along with an enhanced driver information center make life in the tahoe a little more convenient.  the tahoe is the perfect size for many people. It carries a lot more cargo than a compact or mid-size suv like the trailblazer. Third-row seats are available to increase the capacity to seven passengers. Pulling a trailer is no problem with the optional 5. 3-liter v8 and the tahoe's stable platform. Yet the tahoe is far more maneuverable than a suburban, important in crowded parking lots, underground garages, or when parallel parking. And it'll fit in more garages.  on the road, the tahoe is smooth and stable, a rock. It has plenty of power and its brakes work well. The cabin in the 2003 model is comfortable and familiar, friendly and functional, better than the 2002 models. Turn off the highway and the tahoe handles gravel, rugged two-tracks, mud, and snow. It's a great choice for someone who needs real carrying capacity.  . lineupthe 2003 chevy tahoe is available in ls and lt trim, plus there's a z71 off-road package. Two v8 engines are available, the vortec 4800 and the vortec 5300. The vortec 5300 700) is optional. Tahoe ls 4wd retails for $36,305.  the lt package 4,010) turns the tahoe into a luxurious truck with leather seating surfaces, tri-zone automatic air conditioning, 60/40 split folding middle bench seat, bose nine-speaker am/fm stereo with six-disc in-dash cd changer, rear audio controls with dual headphone jacks, color-keyed door handles, power heated mirrors with turn signals and ground illumination.  lt comes standard with the vortec 5300 v8 rated at 285 horsepower, which is 10 more than the vortec 4800. More important is the difference in torque: the 4800 is rated at 290 pounds-feet of torque, while the 5300 is rated at 325 pounds-feet of torque. This is an attractive truck, though with its conservative and familiar styling, the tahoe doesn't stand out. It is essentially a shortened version of the chevy suburban and shares much in common with it.  the tahoe is 21 inches shorter than the suburban and nearly 8 inches shorter than the new ford expedition. The tahoe is nearly 10 inches shorter than the new chevy trailblazer ext, though nearly 6 inches longer than the standard trailblazer. However, the tahoe is 4 inches wider than the trailblazer ext. The tahoe is the same width as the suburban.  new exterior mirrors feature puddle lamps that light up the area around the tahoe. Heating elements keep frost and ice off. The left mirror automatically dims for headlamp glare. If that isn't enough, they remember his and hers adjustments just like the seats. Most important, the tahoe's mirrors are big and afford an excellent view rearward.  choose between a traditional rear hatch with a flip-up window or split panel doors, also known as barn doors or cargo doors. Choosing between them is a matter of lifestyle and personal preference. Cargo doors are standard on the base tahoe and optional on the ls and lt models. Cargo doors are more convenient when towing and for other truck chores and they make it easier to control a dog. The dealer can turn off the automatic locking feature.  . interiorthe chevrolet tahoe is loaded with new features and interior improvements for 2003. It’s a comfortable, user-friendly, and attractive interior, and the improvements make it even better. New seats, a new center console, a new instrument panel, new hvac controls, and refinement throughout result in an improved environment for driver and passengers.  we love the new electronically controlled three-zone hvac system for its sophistication and ease of use. Change the driver's temperature, for example, and it displays the new temperature for a few moments, then display's the passenger's temperature, then displays the driver's temperature again. It's easy to operate the controls with big knobs and a clear led display that's easy to understand. Rear electronic temperature controls improve comfort for second- and third-row passengers and pets.  standard is a new manual control hvac system with dual zones that allows temperature differentials of 30 degrees between driver and passenger. We can't guarantee that some of her heat won't venture over into his breathing space, however. Manual rear air conditioning is standard.  a new multiplexed electrical architecture makes the tahoe smarter and more reliable. Optional seat heaters are easy to turn on and adjust. Switchgear is nicely designed and easy to operate. The map lights can be aimed. Rubber lined cubbies on the center console offer places to organize odds and ends. The ashtray can be removed to reveal another nice cubby for sunglasses and stuff. Cup holders are well designed. Three power outlets in front and one in back deliver electricity for accessories. Visibility is very good through big windows, but we'd like the option of an electronic park-assist feature to help maneuver this big rig in tight quarters.  second-row seating in the tahoe is quite comfortable. A pair of map lights flanks each dome light on the second and third row, a great feature when traveling or accessing gear. The tahoe provides slightly more cargo space behind the second row than the ford expedition does (63. 6 cubic feet vs. 60. 9 cubic f. 2004 chevrolet suburban review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The first choice in size extra large. introductionsince the chevrolet suburban first appeared in the mid-1930s, its mission has not wavered. It remains the first choice for anyone who needs to haul six or more people plus their cargo. It's based on a superbly engineered full-size truck frame. Its v8 engines deliver strong torque for towing heavy loads and it's supremely stable when pulling heavy trailers through nasty, windy weather. Suburban provides a stable, comfortable ride for long-distance travel. Last but not least, it's fully capable of slogging down muddy two-tracks, whether in pursuit of the great outdoors or to get some work done.  the suburban received a substantial update for 2003, with more than 40 major changes designed to enhance safety and improve reliability. The stabilitrak electronic stability program became available for improved control on slippery surfaces. New airbag systems were designed to better protect children and adults of various sizes. Adjustable pedals became available for the comfort and safety for drivers of smaller stature. The brakes were refined, and an all-new electrical architecture promised improved reliability. Xm satellite radio became available, along with a new panasonic dvd system for back-seat monkeys.  changes for 2004 enhance safety further. New hydroboost brakes provide power assist even if the engine stalls or is turned off. A tire-pressure monitor is now standard. New options include stand-alone traction control and 17-inch all-weather tires. Most people find the 1500 models meet their needs.  suburban 1500 models come equipped with a 5. 3-liter v8. The 2500 models are available with a choice of 6. 0-liter or 8. 1-liter v8s.  two trim levels are available: ls 37,050) and ls 4wd 39,850), and lt 41,920) and lt 4wd 44,720).  ls models come standard with three-zone manual air conditioning, a 40/20/40 split bench front seat with six-way power for the driver, 60/40 split folding middle bench seat, fog lamps, assist steps, powered and heated outside mirrors, and a rear window defogger. A preferred equipment group 1,035) adds bucket seats with upgraded cloth upholstery, a floor console, and a bose nine-speaker audio system with rear controls and headphone jacks.  lt models are more luxurious, adding automatic climate control, leather seat inserts, power folding mirrors with in-glass turn signals and electrochromic dimming on the driver's side, the bose stereo, and many other features.  the z71 off-road package 5,215) includes heavy-duty springs and gas-pressure shocks, plus special appearance items outside and lt-grade comfort and convenience features inside.  entertainment options include a panasonic dvd player 1485 on ls, $1295 on lt) with wireless headphones, auxiliary audio/video jacks and remote game plug-in. Xm satellite radio (standard on lt, $325 on ls, plus a subscription fee) receives 100 coast-to-coast channels, many of them commercial-free. An electric tilt-and-slide sunroof is available ls and lt 995-$1290). walkaroundthere's no mistaking the 'burb. The chevrolet suburban looks like an old friend. It hasn't been completely redesigned since 2000, and the 2004 model retains a family resemblance to suburbans far older than that.  two tailgate configurations are available. The one-piece rear hatch 250) works best for most families. It's lightweight and can be opened with one hand. It comes with a window wiper/washer, and the one-piece window affords the driver a good view rearward. Traditional side-by-side cargo doors are also available. Cargo doors are useful when pulling trailers because they will usually clear the trailer tongue jack. They can also make it easier to control a dog while opening them. In this latest version of the suburban, the hinges are engineered to let the doors open wide without having to be manually disconnected.  a puddle lamp mounted below the lt's side mirrors shines down to light up the perimeter. It can be turned on using the keyless remote. That's a nice feature when approaching the suburban in a dark parking garage, as it illuminates underneath the vehicle. In most respects, it is identical to the more luxurious gmc yukon xl, which was called suburban until recent years. interiorcleverly designed seating maximizes the hauling potential of the chevrolet suburban. The third-row seatback folds down without having to remove the headrests, then the whole thing flips forward to substantially increase cargo capacity. A short prop rod locks it into place. The one-piece seat can be removed and is mounted on wheels, but it weighs 75 pounds, so removing it is a lot easier with a second person to help. We've done it.) loading cargo is easy because there's plenty of space for it. The lt's leather seats seem more supportive, but there's still room for improvement. Big and cushy, they are similar to the seats found in all of gm's full-size pickups and suvs.  the second row is quite comfortable. Headphone jacks (standard on lt, optional on ls) allow rear-seat passengers to listen to cds while those up front turn on the radio. Running boards make it easier for others. The suburban's step-in height is lower than it was with pre-2000 models, because of the fully boxed frame.  power-adjustable pedals allow shorter drivers to sit farther back from the steering wheel and farther away from the airbag, reducing the chance of injury should it deploy. Dual-level airbags, an important new feature introduced last year, inflate with less force in less forceful collisions. Sensors in the front passenger seat and seat belts measure the size and weight of the front-seat passenger and disable the airbag for child-size passengers. driving impressionride quality in the chevy suburban 1500 is smooth, greatly improved over the previous-generation (pre-2000) models. The standard premium smooth ride suspension features a hydraulically controlled rear self-leveling system to keep the suburban at a normal ride height even when carrying heavy loads. Whether towing a horse trailer or picking up a soccer team, autoride continually adjusts the suspension for optimum ride and handling. This technology also helps reduce dive when braking (so that the nose of the vehicle doesn't dip down unduly), and body roll (or lean) during cornering, both of which improve stability.  handling is excellent for a big, heavy truck. The steering is responsive and doesn't isolate the driver from the road. The suburban grips the road surprisingly well for such a large vehicle. We never lost traction while pushing hard over wet mountain roads. We drove into wet turns as quickly as we'd ever want to go in a big suv and never lost grip. Part of this is due to the superbly engineered chassis. The entire front part of the frame is hydroformed from one piece of metal, a design that's much more rigid than a bunch of pieces of frame welded together.  brakes on all suburbans work smoothly and progressively, providing stopping power without drama. The suburban's braking system was completely redesigned for model-year 2000 and further refined for 2003 for better performance, improved pedal feel and quieter operation. A dynamic rear proportioning system continuously balances the front and rear brakes for maximum braking without activating the abs. Once it does activate, the abs allows the driver to maintain control of the steering in an emergency braking maneuver. Hydroboost braking, introduced for 2004, uses power-steering fluid pressure instead of engine vacuum to reduce braking effort. That provides added safety, with more reserve power assist for braking under specific conditions. Stabilitrak measures where the driver is steering against where the truck is actually heading and, when necessary, reduces engine torque or selectively applies. 2002 chevrolet tahoe review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Just the right size. introductionchevrolet tahoe is the perfect-size sport-utility for many people. Pulling a trailer is no problem, yet the tahoe is far more maneuverable than a suburban, and that's important in crowded parking lots, underground garages, or when parallel parking.  on the road, the tahoe is smooth and stable, a rock. It has plenty of power and its brakes work well. Its cabin is comfortable and familiar, friendly and functional. The bigger difference between the engines is in torque (pulling power). The 4800 is rated at 290 foot-pounds-feet of torque, while the 5300 is rated at 325 foot-pounds-feet of torque.  the z71 is powered by the 5300 engine. It is specially equipped for off-pavement driving and comes only as a 4x4.  for 2002, all tahoes except the z71 are equipped with a premium ride suspension system. The vortec 5300 v8 can run on either gasoline or on fuel containing as much as 85 percent ethanol content. It shares much in common with the suburban and the silverado pickup.  pull door handles are easy to use.  at the rear, there's a choice of a traditional hatch with a flip-up window or panel doors, also known as barn doors or cargo doors. Choosing between them is a matter of lifestyle and personal preference. Cargo doors are standard on the base tahoe and optional on the ls and lt models; cargo doors are more convenient when towing and for other truck chores, and they make it easier to control a dog. The automatic locking feature can be turned off by the dealer. interiortahoe's interior is comfortable, user-friendly, and attractive. Step-in height is lower than it is with pre-2000 models, making it easier to climb in and out. Controls are mounted within easy reach. Visibility is very good through big windows.  it's comfortable up front with nice cloth or leather seats, well-designed switchgear, and map lights that can be aimed. The cupholders are nicely designed and there's a place for a sunglasses case or wallet. Three power outlets in front and one in back deliver electricity for accessories.  it's also quite comfortable in the second row. Separate rear audio and heating and air conditioning controls are available. A pair of map lights flanks each dome light on the second and third row, a great feature when traveling or accessing gear.  folding the second-row seats down provides enormous cargo capacity, useful for outdoor activities and home-improvement weekends. The suburban is far more practical than the tahoe for carrying six or seven people on a regular basis.  in terms of flexibility, however, the tahoe's third-row seats comprise one of the best designs in the business. They can be quickly folded and flipped out of they way. Better yet, they're easy to remove: just fold down, flip up, grab the release handle, and roll them out on their wheels. They're not light, but one person can remove each of the two seats. Storing them in the garage is a good idea as it opens up more cargo space. This leaves room for five people and lots of cargo.  there's plenty of room back there for a big dog. Reinstalling the third-row seats is a snap. driving impressionthe tahoe rides smoothly on the open road and it's stable and comfortable at higher speeds. It handles bumpy roads well. And it's much easier to park than a suburban.  a tahoe is relatively easy to park. With its shorter wheelbase, shorter rear overhang and taller ground clearance, the tahoe traverses gullies and other rugged terrain where the suburban scrapes bottom. Likewise, the tahoe is shorter and more maneuverable than the ford expedition. Even though the tahoe is an inch wider than the expedition, i find it easier to judge the distance between the tahoe's right front corner and a tree. The expedition's fenders seem taller and the tahoe seems easier to manage off road.  the front suspension is conventional in design, except for the springs. To save space, the tahoe uses torsion bars instead of coil springs. For 2002, premium ride, formerly a $366 option, is standard equipment and uses self-leveling rear shocks to maintain trim height for better handling when hauling heavy cargo or pulling a trailer.  optional on the lt is autoride, which electronically controls rear air shocks to provide real-time suspension damping. Press a button and gm's tow/haul mode, standard on these new suvs, holds the transmission in gear longer and shifts more abruptly to keep the transmission cooler.  the z71 package seems to improve the ride quality on gravel and washboard surfaces. The z71 also has a locking rear differential, skid plates to protect vital underbody components and comes with the additional security of onstar communications service.  the tahoe's conventional ladder frame is fully boxed in the mid-section for maximum rigidity, while the front and rear portions are shaped by the same hydro-forming technique used to make corvette frames. This design is a key to the tahoe's excellent ride and handling. At the very front of the frame is a section that is designed to crush and absorb impacts in a crash.  the recirculating-ball steering provides good control and feedback, even if it falls short of the rack-and-pinion steering found on the ford explorer. We towed a heavily laden horse trailer without trailer brakes connected and were impressed with its braking ability. A dynamic proportioning system continuously balances the front and rear brakes for maximum braking without activating the abs.  chevy's small-block overhead-valve v8s are excellent. They rival competitors' overhead-cam engines for smoothness and efficiency, and deliver strong torque for towing. It delivers strong acceleration performance and burns regular unleaded fuel; the 5. 3-liter engine earns an epa-estimated 14/17 mpg city/highway.  the tahoe doesn't offer the off-road capability of a jeep grand cherokee, toyota land cruiser, or land rover discovery. The tahoe will, however, get to most of the places most of us want to go. Press the auto 4wd button for inconsistent road conditions. Power will only be sent to the rear wheels when there's good grip, but any loss of traction will cause power to be directed to the front wheels. This works well when patches of snow and ice are on the road.  i like. Air Conditioning✔ Sunroof/Moonroof✔ Leather Seats

2005 chevrolet equinox review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. introductionwith the 2005 chevrolet equinox, general motors finally has a compact suv to challenge the ford escape, honda cr-v and toyota rav4. It's bigger inside and out than most of the suvs in this class, and that's deliberate. Like the honda, toyota and ford products, the equinox is car-based, using the new gm theta front-wheel-drive architecture and adapting it for all-wheel-drive versions. This same architecture is under the saturn vue suv as well.  the equinox's dimensions blur the line between compact and midsize suvs. It is 13. 9 inches longer than the arch-competitor and market leader ford escape, and only three inches shorter than a trailblazer, and that extra room will make all the difference on some families' buying decisions. It rides on a wheelbase that is 9. 4 inches longer than the escape's, yielding a generally smoother ride. When the rear bench and front passenger seat are folded flat, there's room inside this truck for eight-foot-long loads. The rear seatback is split 60/40 for added cargo/people hauling flexibility. lineuponly two equinox models are available, including the basic ls 20,995 fwd, $22,970 awd) and the more luxurious and better-appointed lt 22,710 fwd, $24,335 awd) versions. The 1se package 3475) for the lt adds to that onstar, leather seats, power sunroof, premium sound system with seven speakers, the six-cd changer, heated front seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, and redundant radio controls on the wheel. Aside from the packages, the equipment is offered as 18 different freestanding options including two colors of metallic paint, with most options available on either the ls or the lt. But its side-view shape is quite a bit different from the rest of the family, and for that, we like it.  the pillars and the sheetmetal between the tops of the glass panels and the roof seem to us to be extra-thick, imparting a feeling of extra solidity and strength, perhaps important for a truck made on a car platform. The bigger size is evident everywhere. Up front, equinox carries flexible net storage pockets on both sides of the console. The center armrest has dual cupholders, a small storage cubby and a coin holder for toll money. Under the armrest is more storage, an open floor console with cupholder, cd holder and purse or briefcase storage.  the rear seat sits on a track that allows it to slide back and forth by up to eight inches, to bring kids, brief cases, purses or cargoes closer or to provide extra room for tall passengers in the second seat. Gm calls this innovative feature the multi-flex rear seat. There is a 12-volt power outlet and dual slide-out cupholders for rear passengers.  gm's designers have used the space above the wheel wells to create a unique cargo storage system like the adjustable shelf in its larger suvs. A lightweight reversible panel slides into slots on the equinox's wheel wells at three different heights. Carpeted on one side and plastic on the other, the panel can serve as shelf, cargo cover or even a picnic or tailgating table. The tops of the wheel wells contain storage bins for small items. It starts, it runs, and it's relatively smooth. The new five-speed automatic transmission shifts up and down just fine. As we said, this is a 25-year-old engine design that is without benefit of balance shafts, variable-valve timing or variable intake, but it's perfectly adequate for family suv use. Chevrolet rates it to haul families plus trailer loads of up to 3500 pounds, and it has the guts to do it.  we found the long-wheelbase chassis of this 3600-pound car/truck provided a plush ride, good cornering performance, relatively crisp handling, and long-trip comfort. The brakes are well matched to the size and weight of the equinox fwd that we tested, with good, progressive pedal travel and linear braking force application.  equinox and the saturn vue have an electric power steering system. An electronic control unit programmed for a variety of performance characteristics controls an electric motor mounted adjacent to the steering column to provide the right amount of assist for a given driving situation. The steering ratio is variable, so the equinox has good, steady road feel in highway driving and low effort at low speeds for easier parking. We don't think the average american driver can tell it apart from hydraulic power steering, and that's a good thing, especially when combined with the fact that engine power isn't used to drive the system and can be used to move the vehicle, saving gasoline. summarywith its unique look and larger size than the american and asian competition, the equinox is in a position to please the more demanding customers looking for more power and more space than the norm in this segment. The equinox has a very flexible interior design with lots of space for family goods, and lots of space for american-sized people in both rows of seats.  equinox is a chevrolet, with chevrolet-level quality and materials at a chevrolet price. It has a distinctly japanese feel to it, inside and out, but it's american, built in canada, and a heck of a deal for the money, we think. 2001 chevrolet suburban review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Bigger gets better. introductionchevy's suburban was totally redesigned and re-engineered for 2000. Three trim levels are available: base, ls and lt. Suburban 1500s come equipped with a 5. 3-liter v8. The 2500s are available with a choice of 6. 0-liter or 8. 1-liter v8s.  base 1500 models list for $25,921 in 2wd and $28,837 in 4wd. Base-trim 2500s go for $27,780 in 2wd and $30,780 in 4wd. Ls gets a nicer cloth reclining front bench seat with adjustable lumbar support; and bucket seats are an option. Lt is fitted with leather seating surfaces and premium full-function heated front bucket seats. Lt also comes with electronic climate control, premium cd stereo, the homelink universal garage door opener, and gm's onstar system. All the sheet metal was new for 2000. The entire vehicle looks smoother and more aerodynamic. Sharp edges have been rounded. Most noticeable are the new headlights.  two tailgate configurations are available. A lightweight, one-piece rear hatch similar to those found on compact suvs is useful for families and can be opened with one hand. Chevrolet lists it as a no-cost option. Cargo doors are also useful when pulling trailers because they will usually clear the trailer tongue jack. And i like them because it's easier to control my dog when i open them. The hinges have been re-engineered for a more finished appearance; and they let the doors open wide without having to disconnect the hinges.  a puddle lamp mounted below the side mirrors shines down to light up the perimeter of the suburban. It's a nice feature that can be turned on using the keyless remote when approaching the suburban in a dark parking garage, as it illuminates underneath the vehicle. The third-row seatback folds down without having to remove the headrests, then the whole thing flips forward to substantially increase cargo capacity. A short prop rod locks it into place. This bench seat can be easily removed as it's mounted on wheels; it weighs 75 pounds, however, so get some help before pulling it out the back end of the suburban. Loading cargo is easy because there's plenty of space for it; lift-over height is lower than that of the ford excursion. Lt's leather seats seem more supportive. The second row is quite comfortable. Headphone jacks allow rear-seat passengers to listen to cds while those up front turn on the radio. Getting back there requires folding and flipping the seat out of the way.  though my height-challenged mother-in-law found getting into the suburban a bit of a step up, it isn't a problem for those of standard stature. Step-in height is actually lower than before because of the new fully boxed frame. Driving quickly over wet pavement through the san juan mountains, high above colorado's delores river, we never lost traction. I took turns driving the suburban on the wet, winding road with the road test editor from one of the major enthusiast magazines. Each of us has extensive racing experience, but we were unable to get the suburban to come unglued. We drove into wet turns as quickly as we'd ever want to go in a suburban and never lost grip. The frame is completely re-engineered. The entire front part of the frame is hydro-formed from one piece of metal and is far more rigid than a bunch of pieces welded together.  ride quality in the suburban 1500 is smooth, greatly improved over the previous-generation suburban. The optional premium ride suspension features a hydraulically controlled rear self-leveling system to keep the suburban at normal ride height even when carrying heavy loads. This system offered a good ride quality on the suburban i drove. The more sophisticated optional auto-ride suspension system uses computer-controlled shock damping for improved ride quality over uneven pavement. Whether towing a horse trailer or picking up a soccer team, auto-ride continually adjusts the suspension for optimum ride and handling. This technology also helps reduce dive on braking (so that the nose of the vehicle doesn't dip down unduly), and body roll (or lean) during cornering. Most people find the 1500 models meet their needs.  the 2500 models, often referred to as the 3/4-ton versions, are only needed for those who tow heavy trailers. Rated to tow up to 10,500 pounds, they effectively match the towing capacity of the ford excursion. Suburban 2500 will ride a bit harsher because its rear suspension uses leaf springs instead of the coil-springs used on the 1500. But the 2500 rides surprisingly well, given its load range, a big improvement over the previous-generation 2500 models and smoother than the big ford excursion.  until last year, suburbans came with mushy brakes. Gm redesigned the brake system to address this. The pedal on the new suburban works smoothly and progressively, which makes is easier to stop without drama. A new dynamic rear proportioning system modulates the pressure applied to the rear brakes for more effective braking. Brake pads and rotors are 40 percent larger and use twin-piston calipers. Those in the sunbelt may not see justification for it. If conditions are fluctuating, hit the auto 4wd button and the autotrac all-wheel-drive system automatically transfers power from a slipping wheel to the wheels with the best traction; no input is needed from the driver.  for 2001, the 2500's 6. 0-liter v8 has aluminum heads and a revised camshaft, producing a nice, round 300 horsepower. We haven't tried the new 8. 1-liter v8, but responsiveness from either the 5. 3 or 6. 0 is excellent.  suburban's automatic transmission comes with a tow/haul mode. Pressing a switch on the end of the column shifter changes the shift points of the transmission. The tow/haul mode improves performa. summarywe love the suburban. It's a great vehicle for moving cargo, towing trailers, or hauling people. Power Windows✔ Anti-lock Brakes✔ Bucket Seats✔ Climate Control✔ Sunroof/Moonroof✔ Air Conditioning✔ Leather Seats

It can haul more cargo than a Chevy TrailBlazer or Ford Explorer yet it's easier to manuever than a Chevy Suburban, important in crowded parking lots, underground garages, or when parallel parking, plus it'll fit in more garages. 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe Review This car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale.  The lineup has been expanded for 2008 with the addition of two new models: the luxury-oriented Equinox LTZ and the performance-oriented Equinox Sport. And an anti-trailer sway function has been incorporated into the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system for more secure towing. These changes come on the heels of cabin improvements that began with the 2007 models, along with improved safety features

Some of the changes can be seen, including the climate controls and a new family of radios, both of which are easier to use yet more powerful and more sophisticated than last year's. The 'burb was completely redesigned for 2000, and this year's model benefits from major mid-cycle revisions. 2003 Chevrolet Suburban Review This car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale Climate Control✔ Bucket Seats✔ CD Changer✔ Air Conditioning✔ Sunroof/Moonroof✔ Leather Seats
